Lizzie Milat grew up in Napa Valley, California. I would know, I am Lizzie Milat. Now that we've established that, I'm going to stop speaking in third-person. It's kind of weird. I just thought it made a good hook.

As I was saying, I grew up in California. I've been enjoying drawing since before I can remember. I've been told as a baby I would just stare at everything, always observing and taking it all in. Now that i'm old enough to hold a pencil it's a lot easier to do something with these observations. As I grow as both a person and an artist, I continue to take influence from everything around me.

I'm Inspired by fashion, music, food, storytelling, conversation and conservation to name a few. While I have my consistent hobbies like thrift-shopping, taking walks in nature, and hosting impromptu dance parties in the kitchen, I may be most inspired by the experiences that are too new or unique to be considered hobbies. With each of these experiences, new and familiar, I can find fresh perspectives of them through my art.

And maybe it's wrong as an artist to admit, but often times, what's even more interesting to me than creating the work, is sharing what i've taken in, and gaining new understanding of it through the eyes of others.
